“The alternative to good design is bad design. There is no such thing as no design” — Adam Judge
Whether you like it not - how a user, customer or even a competitor experiences your brand, services and systems. Is probably the biggest contributing factor to growth in your business right now. Get this right and you will be loved by many, fail to hit the mark and you may as well give up now.
UX (User Experience) design is enormous! It impacts every organisation in the world. Big or small and no business remains untouched by the wins or fails of having poor UX.
Good UX design not only entices users, but has the potential to greatly increase conversions. Generating value for a business in the most literal sense of the word. Better user experience = happy and more valuable customers.
From websites or portals, to systems and apps. Here are some of the key items to remember when it comes to your new UX project:

Website visitors will stay 88% longer on web pages with videos. According to recent Web FX analysis, videos on your website are a must have to keep engagement, while 94% of first impressions relate to your site’s web design. Bring your website and portal, even systems to life with videos.

63% of people would message an online chatbot to communicate with a business or brand. More importantly, 79% of people would want to talk to a real person if a chatbot couldn’t solve a problem. This shows there is huge appetite for AI lead solutions… if you can get the UI just right.

85% of people think a business’s mobile website should be as good as or better than its desktop equivalent. Think clearly about how you wish your mobile site to be viewed. Does your current website work as required on a mobile device? Do you need a separate version, a different version.

More than 70% of small businesses do not use call-to-action (CTA) buttons on their websites. One of the most valuable items on your website is the call-to-action ability. Something to start the customer on their journey and begin interacting with you. An AI Form or Chatbot works best and a tailored user experiences that create high levels of engagement should be top of your list. Although you should at the very least have a ‘contact us’ button.

80% of potential customers could be lost if a business doesn’t have a website. Rule No.1 – have a website. Not much else to say here, you need a website that’s kept up to date and user friendly.

The second most important reason users leave a website is that they can’t tell what a website does, with 46% of consumers saying they leave a website once they can’t easily tell what a company does. It’s critical you bring your brad to life through your website. Showcase quickly what you do, what you stand for and how you do it… quickly and clearly.

According to Measuring U, 85% of issues related to UX can be detected by performing a usability test on a group of five users. If you were in any doubt how best to test your current website’s usability, just ask 5 random people to give you feedback.

79% of users who don’t find what they are looking for on one website, will go on searching on other websites.
UX design is obviously user-oriented. The client is always right, who’s going to argue there.
The websites of eBay, Amazon, Apple, Ikea, Netflix (the list goes on!) have set the bar super high!
What happens when you head to Amazon.com? The chance of you leaving after 2-3 seconds is pretty much impossible.
And why is this?
Once the website loads, our brain recognises that is has found the perfect site for our needs. From layout, to images, colours, messages, UX, brand etc etc etc. It just feels so natural to start adding items to the cart. Amazon lure you in and then you just keep coming back, over and over again.
Pretty sure you are thinking about Amazon, aren’t you? See.

Studies suggest that the ROI of UX design could be as high as 9,900%! Furthermore, according to McKinsey, companies that score in the top quartile of the McKinsey Design Index outperform industry benchmark growth by 2:1.

You don’t have to go BIG. Adding or replacing the items that are missing or do not work as a user expects, is a quick win all round. Put yourself in your customers shoes and gather some user feedback yourself. Better still, find a UX partner that knows the industry you serve, your customers, your partners and how to give you what you need and want.
When it comes to your brand, customers and services. Very few things beat UI & UX. You either get this right or wrong, there is very little in between.
